We want Hucknall Harriers to be open and inclusive for all, without any compulsory annual membership fee. Instead, anyone who wishes to support the group can choose to donate if they feel happy and able.
What are the donations use for?
Donations help cover things such as:
Affiliation and insurance costs
Website and online services
Bank charges
Club t-shirt and vest stock
Equipment
Run leader training and development within the group
The key focus for 2026/27 is to roll out England Athletics Run Leader training to regular HH volunteers. As the group grows—especially with more beginners—it’s important runs are led safely, confidently, and inclusively. Using club donations, HH is in a strong position to fund this training, helping to share responsibility, support larger groups, improve inclusivity, and promote good practice to keep runners safe and reduce the risk of injury.
How much should I donate?
To help keep contributions consistent among those who are happy to donate, we suggest around £1–£3 per month. Some members set this up as a small monthly transfer, while others prefer to make a one-off payment.
However, please remember there is absolutely no expectation to donate. The most important thing about HH is that everyone feels welcome to come along, get out running, and be part of the community. It’s about socialising, making friends, enjoying running, taking on new challenges, reaching personal goals, and having lots of adventures with friends along the way - while becoming happier, healthier, and fitter.
