All regular weekly runs are posted as events in the Hucknall Harriers Running Group Facebook page. We vary the event start locations and routes as much as possible, but all the details are posted as events on the Facebook group.
This run ideal for new runners to the group who haven't joined for a run yet, as well as the regulars.
We keep a nice steady pace and take walking breaks as needed, however we recommend that you can complete a 5k distance in under 40 minutes.
If you are still working up to this distance and would like some support, Runspire Nottingham offer excellent Couch to 5k courses locally.
Quicker runners are also more than welcome to come along and will usually sort themselves out into groups based on ability.
If you are afraid everyone will run too quick for you, then this is the run for you!
This run is aimed at intermediate runners who are able to run a 10k. If possible, the group will split into different ability run groups.
We tend to alternate this run between a road run and a head torch trail run through the winter and then mainly stick to trail running over the summer.
For this run we post three different distance runs: Short (5k), Medium (7.5k) and Long (10k).
Runners then familiarise themselves with the routes posted and then buddy up into groups depending on which distance they want to run and how quickly they want to run it. This means it is ideal for all abilities!
The one rule of Map Run is... no one runs alone!
This run is for all those early risers in the group or the runners that can't make evening runs. It is open to all abilities and there is often an option at the end to do a bit of extra distance if you feel you want to. Quicker runners either stop to regroup or loop back.
This run is usually a nice steady pace, but faster runners are very welcome and can either stop to regroup or loop back to add extra distance.
Run buggies are also welcome. If you're lucky the quicker runners will be there to help out with the buggy pushing!
We organise a variety of Sunday long runs, ranging from local routes to those slightly further afield. We often vary distances to try to accommodate runners of all levels.
This is not an affiliated running club, just a friendly running community group ran by its members.
You are therefore responsible for your own safety and run at your own risk on any of the runs or events arranged by its members. Anyone wishing to participate in a Hucknall Harriers run must agree to this before attending. Under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
