Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the AGM feedback form.
The overall feedback was really positive, with many members highlighting how welcoming, inclusive and supportive the group feels. The sense of community and the “HH family” came through strongly, along with how much people value the relaxed, no-pressure approach to running.
It was also clear how much impact the group is having - from helping people get back into running, to building confidence, forming friendships and giving people something to look forward to each week. Several members shared how much being part of HH has meant to them personally, which is great to see.
A number of common themes came through in the feedback:
The wide variety of runs, days and distances continues to be a real strength
Communication and organisation, particularly through Facebook, is working well
The beginners group has been a really positive addition and is helping bring new people into running
The friendly, supportive atmosphere is what makes HH what it is
Alongside the main themes, there were a range of ideas and reflections shared by members.
Rather than filtering these too heavily, they’re included here to give a fuller picture of how people experience the group, both what’s working well and where we can continue to improve.
Some of the points raised included:
Interest in more structured sessions such as intervals, hill training or training plans
Suggestions for more trail runs, Peak District trips and parkrun tourism (UK and abroad)
Ideas around different run formats, including a club handicap race
A few comments around run timings not always working for everyone
There were also some thoughtful reflections around how people experience the group as it continues to grow.
While the group is widely seen as friendly and inclusive, a couple of members mentioned that when runs are busy, it can sometimes feel harder for newer faces to find their place within groups. This is likely just a natural side effect of people already knowing each other, but it’s something worth being aware of as the group grows. Simple things like making introductions at the start of runs, keeping an eye out for anyone new or on their own can make a big difference in helping everyone feel part of the HH family.
There were also suggestions around giving something back more widely, for example volunteering as a group at local events (e.g. marshalling, water stations or race support). This could be a good way to support the wider running community while also raising the profile of HH.
Alongside these, there were a range of other ideas, from social events to different run formats, which will be kept in mind as the group continues to develop.
As always, these aren’t formal plans. If anything stands out and you’d like to help shape it, or take the lead on something, feel free to get involved.
As part of the AGM, members were also asked to confirm the current committee structure. All responses received supported the current Chair and Treasurer continuing in their roles for the coming year.
Thanks again to everyone who contributed. The feedback is genuinely appreciated and helps shape what we do next.
